ever for this year’s Pack Expo

It’s finally here! Pack Expo is our favorite time of year and we couldn’t be more excited for what we have to show you at this year’s show in Chicago. The show will be held at McCormick Place, on Chicago’s lakefront, from October 31st to November 3rd and we’ll be in booth #3854.

This will be the first Pack Expo appearance for our newest conveyor platform, DustPruf™. For the first time ever, packaging professionals will be able to witness the smooth-sided conveyors transfer product as small as Oreo cookies on the DustPruf 2300 Series as well as the flexible design of the DustPruf 5300 Series.

Of course, the DustPruf line won’t be alone. Within our 1,600 sq. ft. booth, attendees will see all of our conveyor platforms in action. Featuring everything from our low profile aluminum frame conveyors to our Aqua family of the stainless steel conveyors, we will be simulating real-life applications.

One of our own, Dorner COO Rich Ryan, Elected to PMMI Board of Directors

Dorner’s Chief Operating Officer Rich Ryan has been elected to the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) Board of Directors.

Rich, a member of PMMI’s Business Intelligence Committee, said he looks forward to working with the board for the betterment of all PMMI member companies.

"It’s a great honor to be elected to the PMMI Board of Directors and to continue advocating on behalf of the more than 500 member packaging and packaging-related companies in the United States and Canada," Ryan said. "Dorner has been a proud member of PMMI for years and certainly wouldn’t be where it is today without the strong support of this organization."

PMMI is a trade organization of 560-plus member companies that manufacture packaging, processing and related converting machinery throughout North America. PMMI’s vision is to be the leading global resource for packaging, and its mission is to improve and promote members’ abilities to meet the needs of their customers.

Rich assumed his role as COO when he joined Dorner in October of 2005. Under his leadership Dorner has introduced several new and updated conveyor platforms serving a variety of industries, including the AquaPruf® and AquaGard® platforms for sanitary applications, and the DustPruf™, iDrive and QWIK platforms for industrial applications.

iDrive merges advanced drive and control technologies with the compact design of the 2200 Series by integrating the motor, gearbox and motor controller into a single, space saving package. Dorner has literally redefined the application footprint for small product conveyors. 

The groundbreaking iDrive feature is ideal for a variety of packaging and industrial applications where space is tight or additional room is needed around the conveyor. Capable of widths as narrow as 3 inches and lengths as long as 12 feet with speeds up to 100 feet-per-minute.

- Conveyor guards are floor-mounted protection equipment that serves as a barrier between forklift traffic and conveyor stands.
- Conveyor guard systems consist of guard sections from 3 feet to 10 feet long in 1-foot increments.
- The sections can be joined to make
a continuous straight run in 1 foot increments, starting at 3 feet. Turns of 90 degrees are accommodated through joining two opposite hand 45 degree conveyor guard sections.
